ADA â All the 2024 happenings in Ada, and the surrounding area, were, frankly, dizzying. And thereâs no way to chronicle them all here. However, the following are, decidedly, some of the highlights â starting with, well, the âHarvest & Herb (Festival) Highlights.â
ADA â What do modern day hobos, police water rescues and East Palestine, Ohio, have in common? If you (quite astonishingly) answered: Ada Community Oriented Policing Officer Penny Keller-Clark, you would have, indeed, been correct.
ADA â Itâs been written about in Sports Illustrated Magazine. Ohio Magazine prominently featured it. People come from near and far (like, for instance, ALL the way from Wapakoneta, LOL) to attend it.
Farmers are finally getting moisture; rain, snow, and even ice. Recent rains followed by colder temperatures has restore some soil moisture. The slow steady rains have soaked in rather than running off. Waterways finally did fill up with water; but it took a long time. That is both good news for future crops planted next year, but also for water quality. Slow steady rains release much less nutrients into our waterways than fast hard driving rainfall events.
