Falcons shut out Ada girls By Cort Reynolds CherryRoad Media Correspondent MT. BLANCHARD – The visiting Ada girls soccer team fell behind early and lost 7-0 at North Central Ohio Soccer Association power Riverdale Thursday evening.
BLOOMDALE – Friday the 13th was not bad luck for the Ada football team but it was for winless Elmwood as the Bulldogs ran away from the Royals in the second half to post a 43-14 win in their first-ever Blanchard Valley Conference meeting last weekend.
WAYNESFIELD – The Hardin Northern football team scored a fourth quarter touchdown in the final minutes, then tacked on the winning two-point conversion to post a crucial 21-20 Northwest Central Conference win Friday night.
HARROD — Bluffton’s boys soccer team rolled by Allen East Monday 7-0 in a Northwest Conference game. Jackson Braun scored a pair of goals for the Pirates (4-6) and had two assists.
The Herald has just learned that former Upper Scioto Valley High School coach, Athletic Director and Assistant Principal, Rex Kear, has been inducted into his high school’s “Athletic Hall of Fame.” At USV, he also coached junior high and high school football for 28 years. Kear is a 1969 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School.
HARROD — Allen East’s football team for a second straight week rallied to overcome a deficit. However, they were unable to pull out a win as Indian Lake scored in the fourth quarter to pull out a 28-21 non-league win.
ADA – The Ada boys soccer team rode a big second half to convincingly defeat Fort Jennings 6-1 Monday evening at War Memorial Stadium. The Bulldogs scored five second- half goals to break away from a halftime tie and win.
ADA – The Ada volleyball team lost its first-ever Blanchard Valley Conference match in straight sets to visiting Liberty-Benton Wednesday evening. The Lady Bulldogs fell to 3-4 overall this season and 0-1 in the BVC after the 259, 25-13, 25-21 loss.
