HARROD — Trenton Barraza scored a pair of touchdowns within two minutes of each other Friday night. That was just the start for the senior running back and the Columbus Grove football team.
HARROD — The Allen East volleyball team fell to Wayne Trace Monday 25-23, 25-18 and 25-12. Brynna Contris came up with 16 digs for the Mustangs.
OTTAWA —Ada’s golf team finished eighth Friday at the third and final Blanchard Valley Conference tournament of the 2024 season. The Bulldogs finished with a team score of 408 as they edged Pandora-Gilboa for the spot based on each team’s fifth man score.
ADA – The host Ada football team posted one of its best wins in years with a 35-20 triumph over solid Blanchard Valley Conference foe McComb on a warm night last Friday at War Memorial Stadium. Ada held the Panthers scoreless in the second half and scored 14 points after intermission to pull away from a nip-and-tuck battle.
CONVOY — Allen East overcame a deficit in the second half Friday night to defeat Crestview 48-41 in Northwest Conference action. The Mustangs trailed 3520 in the second half before rallying for the win.
HARROD — Rilynn Jones had a big night for Allen East in their 9-0 Northwest Conference win over Crestview. Jones scored four goals for the Mustangs and handed out four assists in the win.
MCGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley’s football team rolled along Friday night as they defeated Ridgedale 38-8 in Northwest Central Conference action. Maddox Underwood scored four times for the Rams, while going 6-of-6 in the passing department for 79 yards and a touchdown.
LIMA — The visiting Ada boys soccer team defeated non-conference foe Lima Temple Christian 2-0 in a road match Monday evening. Ada improved to 8-4 overall with the shutout victory.
ADA – The Ada volleyball team played perhaps its best match of the season but came up just short to visiting Arlington in a five-set Blanchard Valley Conference thriller Wednesday evening. The Lady Bulldogs fell to 6-6 overall and 2-3 in the BVC after the heartbreaking 2527, 25-16, 25-20, 24-26, 15-8 defeat.
