Evelyn J. Conley, age 91, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Ada, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. She was born on January 29, 1933 in Alger, Ohio to the late Ray and Mary (Rambo) Symonds. DWIGHT D. KHOURY

Dwight D. Khoury, 92, of Duluth, Minnesota died on July 22, 2024. He was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on December 29, 1931. Prior to his retirement, Dwight was a professor of Spanish at Keuka College in Keuka Park, New York and at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. He is survived by his wife Diane J. Khoury, his sons Sam Khoury and Paul Khoury (Ruth), and his sister Diana Thompson (Roger). He was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Soderberg, and his parents Sam A. Khoury and Evelyn Khoury. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Duluth.

ROY JAMES JUSTICE

Roy James Justice, 81, of Alger and formerly of Ada passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was born in Floyd County, Kentucky on December 29, 1943. Roy married Beverly Prater on October 16, 1965, and she preceded him in death on March 16, 2014. Roy worked for many years at Rockwell International as a welder and worked at the Ada Carwash. He is survived by his brother, Jerry Justice of Colorado Springs, CO, Dewey Justice of Lima, sisters, Lily Rose of Wyoming, MI and Ruth Griffin of Alger. Mr. Justice was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Justice, daughter, Angela Jeffrey, brother, Raymond Justice and sister, Junell Knepper. He was a member of the Church of Christ in McGuffey. Roy was also a member of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department, VIPS and a Marine Corp. veteran. A Celebration of Roy’s life will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. A private family burial will take place at a later date. VICKY LYNN SHADLEY

Vicky Lynn Shadley (nee Wibright), age 65, of Horicon, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the Center for Advanced Care at Froedtert Hospital. Vicky was born the daughter of Lester and Revel (McIntosh) Wibright on June 14, 1958 in Lima, Ohio. She was a graduate of Upper Scioto Valley in McGuffey, Ohio. Vicky was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart David Shadley on September 2, 1978 in Alger, Ohio. She was a staffing support specialist for Manpower for over 20 years. Vicky was a member of the Horicon United Methodist Church, member of the Horicon Jaycees, and the Horicon Booster Club. Vicky enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren traveling to Ohio and spending time with them at the Wisconsin Dells. Her grandchildren will always remember her as GiGi. She was a supportive coach’s wife for 25 years and was her family’s biggest fan. She loved her Jaycee family, especially her best friends Jackie, Mary, Penny, and Christa. She made lasting memories with her family and friends on their Vegas trips. Vicky loved being social and brought laughter and joy to all the lives she touched. Vicky is survived by her husband David of Horicon. Her daughters: Erica (Todd) Madison and Stephanie (Philip) Krueger. Her grandchildren: Colton, Ashlyn, Anna, Aubrey, Alyssa, Laytin, Scarlett, and Emmett. Her siblings: James (Sheran) Wibright, Rick (Linda) Wibright, Donna Hedges, LaVonna (Dwayne) Stout, and Connie (Doug) Crawford. Her brother-in-law, Dan (Janet) Shadley. Her sister-in-law, Patti (Mike) Vollmar. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by parents, her in laws Ralph and Anna Mae Shadley, and sister-in-law, Liana Ussery. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Alger First United Methodist Church, 101 Montville Street, Alger, Ohio 45812 with Pastor Don Clinger officiating. PHIL II NICHOLS

Phil II Nichols, age 69, of Ada, passed away at his residence on Saturday, July 27, 2024. He was born on June 7, 1955 in Lima, Ohio to the late Phil and Evo Erleen (Allen) Nichols. On August 27, 1982, Phil married Sherill R. Moore and she preceded him in death on March 17, 2022. Phil is survived by his four children: Alicia Hogan of Miami, OK, Howard Hogan of Grove, OK, Russ (Nichole) King of Lima and Sarah (Rollin) Carver of South Carolina; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two brothers: Harvey Andrew Nichols of Bryan and Billy Joe Nichols of Mendon; and a sister, Sarah Cunningham of Mendon. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Haden Nichols. Phil worked for LUNA Local #329. He was a veteran in the U.S. Marines. It was his wish to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
