OTTAWA - On Thursday, August 8, Ottawa Brewing Company (OBC) held their long-awaited grand opening of their brewery in the old DuMont building in downtown Ottawa. Dan Stechschulte, co-owner of OBC, explained that he and his fellow co-owners of the new business had been involved in Go Ottawa, a local group focused on downtown revitalization and community building, and through that movement the necessity of opening such a business, a hallmark of successful downtowns, had been very obvious to them.

Bluffton, Ohio (pop. 4,200) was just named: the 2nd Most Bicycle Friendly Town in Ohio; the 14th Most Bicycle Friendly Town in the Midwest; and the 23rd Most Bicycle Friendly Town in the Country! The designations came from one of the premier bicycle advocacy groups in America: “People for Bikes.” The designation criteria spins (bicycle reference intended) around a town’s level of bicycle-friendly infra-structure.
