Arguably, one of the biggest things to ever happen in Ada happened on June 3, 1910. That was the day that then U.S. President William Howard Taft came to give the address and hand out diplomas at the 40th annual Ohio Northern University Commencement.

KENTON — Students at Ada and Hardin Northern Elementary schools participated in the Souper Bowl.

ADA — A lot of the village of Ada’s history has been chronicled in newspapers (Ada Record, Ada Herald) and in Betty Miller’s “Small Town Sampler” booklets. And as the town has morphed over the years, according to Miller, the journalism styles have morphed as well.

Last week in one of his last official acts, President Joe iden took Cuba off America’s list of “…state sponsors of terrorism.” This, in recent years (and from U.S. presidency to presidency) has been a political chess match, if you will.

ADA — Mayor Dave Retterer’s annual “State of the Village” address at a recent Ada Village Council Meeting highlighted, primarily, an amalgam of what he sees as quite positive village developments over the past year.
