Local Couple and ‘The Honduras Connection’ …seeing abject poverty, with an exponent!

She said the abject poverty she saw was simply overwhelming… Elsewhere in this edition, there’s an article about a New Stark (10 miles northeast of Ada) couple, who are, decidedly, some of the most prolific volunteers in the village of Ada. *They volunteer at Beatitude’s Bee Home five days a week.

AWARENESS MONTH

Breast cancer poses a greater threat to women’s lives in countries with a low Human Development Index (HDI), which is a metric used by the United Nations Development Programme to gauge a country’s average achievement in areas such as healthy life and standard of living. WHO data indicates one in 12 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and one in 71 women will die of the disease in countries with a high HDI.
