Ohio Weekly Gas Price Update

Average gasoline prices in Ohio have risen 7.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.50/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 5,345 stations in Ohio. Prices in Ohio are 19.1 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 12.8 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has declined 3.4 cents in the last week and stands at $3.72 per gallon- the lowest level since January, 2022, over 900 days ago.

Military veterans to reconnect and fly together at Fort Fest

On Saturday, August 17, three Vietnam War veterans, Kenneth Bendele, Virgil Dreffs, and Don Nelson, will be meeting again and flying together in a Huey at Fort Fest 2024. Decades ago, the three men had been involved in the same story of a particular Huey “slick” that had suffered some damage out in the field, and then returned back to base for an emergency landing.

Ottawa Brewing Company is now open!

OTTAWA - On Thursday, August 8, Ottawa Brewing Company (OBC) held their long-awaited grand opening of their brewery in the old DuMont building in downtown Ottawa. Dan Stechschulte, co-owner of OBC, explained that he and his fellow co-owners of the new business had been involved in Go Ottawa, a local group focused on downtown revitalization and community building, and through that movement the necessity of opening such a business, a hallmark of successful downtowns, had been very obvious to them.
