Ram quarterback Rhys Rose threw for 224 yards and ran in two touchdowns. Colby Salyer earned a total yardage of 205 yards and scored twice. Total yards for the Rams was 415, compared to Ridgemont's 65.
Both teams scored in the first; with USV's Rose connecting a 54-yard pass to Salyer, but without an extra point. Ridgemont answered with a short toss from Shawn Smith to Caleb Scott and their good extra point gave them their only lead in the game.
In the second quarter, USV scored twice with 10-yard runs by Rose and Brett Wodarski. Rose successfully ran in a two-point conversion as well, bumping the Ram lead to 21-7 at the half.
The Gophers were held scoreless in the third, as USV saw Rose run in his second touchdown, and then connected with Brian Roberts, to widen the lead to 34-7.
The fourth quarter, Ridgemont scored their second and final time with another Smith-Scott connection from 32 yards out. A 41-yard run by Salyer sealed the deal for the Rams at just under five minutes remaining.
