CRIDERSVILLE - Host Perry won a lengthy four-set varsity volleyball match over a tiring Ada squad Monday night.
Playing their fifth match in seven days, the Lady Bulldogs won the second game but faltered in the fourth and final contest.
"We just ran out of gas in the fourth game," said Ada coach Don Castle.
The Commodores took the match 25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 25-9. The loss dropped Ada's record to 2-5.
Senior Nikki Grzybowski was 70-73 setting and 19-19 serving with 13 assists to spark the Bulldog offense.
Classmate Malary Dumbaugh hit 15-20 with a team-high six kills. Sophomore Kenzie Fell was 18-21 hitting with three kills. Junior Moriah Rouch passed 25-27 and made five digs.
Senior Sam Fell served 15-16 and went 20-25 passing. Soph Lindsay Simmons was 18-20 passing.
The Lady Bulldog reserves beat Perry in three games to end a three-match losing skid and improve their record to 4-3.
The schedule doesn't get any easier as Ada hosts Delphos Jefferson Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the team's Northwest Conference opener. "Delphos is a good team," noted Castle.
The Bulldogs then play their seventh match in 10 days when they host local league rival Allen East Thursday evening.
