The Rams of USV are on a roll this football season, successfully defeating the Riverdale Falcons 33-13. Their record is 2-0 overall, with no league games played yet.
Riverdale struck halfway through the first quarter with a single yard run by quarterback Bradley Weber. Steven Rahn kicked the good extra point to give the Falcons the lead until the second quarter.
Ram Brett Wodarski ran the ball in from the four yard line to score USV's first touchdown, and Justin Beale tied up the game by putting the ball through the uprights for the extra point. A huge 87-yard bomb from Ram quarterback Rhys Rose to Colby Salyer was quickly followed by a 67-yard pass from Rose to Brian Roberts to put the Rams on top 19-7 at the half.
Riverdale made the only score in the third, when Weber connected with Rick Duffman, but the extra point failed, keeping USV on top 19-13.
The Rams clinched the win in the fourth by scoring two more times. Rose lobbed the ball to Steven LaRue, and Wodarski was successful for the two-point conversion. Then Brandon Overs ran the ball in from 46 yards out to score the final td.
Rose completed 15 out of 26 times, for a 57.7 percent completion. He also rushed 21 times for 130 yards.
Salyer tallied the most receiving yardage with 108, while Roberts earned 95 and LaRue gained 43.
