By Virginia Bandy Ada Herald Editor
Vanlue showed some inconsistencies in the fundamentals, with several traveling calls, and bad passing skills. The first two quarters for the Wildkittens only saw single digit scoring, as the Lady Rams were very physical against them and aggressive with their defense.
The Vanlue team tried to rally back in the second half, outscoring the Lady Rams in the third by 16-12, but the Ram lead continued through the end of the game.
"We had consistent scoring with three starters in double figures," USV Head Coach Brenda Mullins said. "We used the whole bench tonight."
Whitney Carroll led the Rams in scoring with 15 points, followed by Rachel Jeffers with 14 and Mikayla Coburn with 11. Katie Hicks and Morgan Hunsicker earned five each. Leading rebounder was Jeffers with nine. Shelby Conley gave six assists to her teammates.
Coach Mullins commented on Coburn, saying "I'm really happy with how she's doing. She's scoring a lot of points for us...she's working hard in practices so she's earned her time."
3-pointers: Carroll (3) and Paige Mullins (1).
Scoring 11 points for the Wildkittens was sophomore Krista Wisner. Earning nine each were Kelsie Thomas and Erika Blair.
3-pointers: Thomas (1) and E. Blair (3).

"We had a much better start than we did Thursday against Ridgemont, I think the girls were a little bit more focused tonight and more prepared." Coach Mullins continued. "We have to do a little better on our zone defense. They hit a lot of threes on us."
Vanlue doesn't have a junior varsity team, so the USV reserves did not play.
