| Ada and ONU leaders brainstorm with planning firm on improving village |
In his comments to the Ada Council on Tuesday night, Ada Mayor Dave Retterer announced that he, along with other members of the community and Ohio Northern University, have been in discussions with a municipal planning and development firm on how to "make better use of our space and make it more attractive." The firm, Dillon Corporation, met with Ada community and university leaders for brainstorming sessions and provided some suggestions for making improvements while "retaining the character of the community," according to Retterer.

David Kinder, ONU professor of medicinal chemistry, was named the National Advisor of the Year by Phi Delta Chi, the professional pharmacy fraternity. Ohio Northern alumna Deirdre Myers, R.Ph, ONU pharmacy and laboratory instructor, will be honored as Advisor of the Year by the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA).

| Two drivers injured in SR 309 crash |
A head-on collision involving two vehicles occurred on Wednesday, September 1 on State Route 309 just west of the Hardin County line. Troopers from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating the accident, which happened when Randy Warner of Bellefontaine drove left of center while traveling westbound and struck Aaron Coy of Harrod head-on.

Formed in 1974, Rohrs Farms is a family owned and operated farm, which is now in its fifth generation of farming. Three Rohrs brothers, Don, Jason and John, farm several thousand acres in Hardin County, most of which is south of McGuffey in the Scioto Marsh. The marsh is a flat area with black, high organic soils suitable for growing vegetables and grain production.

The Ada Police Department will be presenting a Citizen's Police Academy this fall beginning September 8 and will run for six weeks. The first four weeks will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at the Ada Depot and the final two weeks will be held on Saturday, October 2 and 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
