Jones killed in hunting accident in WV

Justin Noah Jones, age 23, of Shinnston, WV, was tracking a deer that he had shot when he inadvertantly fell from a 70 foot high cliff into the Salerno Brothers Rock Quarry. The quarry is located on land that is owned by the Bingamon Corporation.
A representative from Bingamon Corp. told The Ada Herald that the land around the quarry is posted as "No Trespassing" and the corporation does not allow hunters on the property. The quarry itself is fenced off as well, for the safety of the cattle that are raised on the land.
Rescue teams were called in to rescue Jones from the bottom of the quarry, where he had fallen into a pit of mud. The hunting party Jones was with, including his step-father Nathan Carson, originally tried to hoist him up the cliff face with a rope but were unsuccessful due to Jones growing exhausted with the effort.
Rescue teams recovered Jones' body later in the afternoon. The accident remains under investigation.
Jones was born June 11, 1985 in Lima, to Carolyn Suzie Turner Carson of Shinnston, WV and the late Daniel B. Jones.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his step-father, Nathan Carson, Shinnston, WV, three brothers; Glenn Keeling, Decatur, IN, Jacob Jones and his wife Christina, Joshua Jones and his wife Miranda, all of OH; one sister, Tabetha Keeling, of OH; four step-brothers; Tom, Greg and Terry Jones, all of OH, Austin Carson, PA; three step-sisters: Nancy and Monica Jones, OH, Heather Conley, Shinnston, WV; his niece and nephew with whom he was raised, Clarissa Jones and Dustin Keeling, OH; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Justin had worked as a licensed tow-motor driver in commercial warehousing. He was a 2004 graduate of Allen East High School where he wrestled and played bass drum in the band. He attended Ohio State University, Lima branch. Justin managed a building during the Halloween season at Harold's Haunted Corn Field, Waynesfield, and was a member of the New Hope Christian Center since the age of 10.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad Nathan and he liked composing music and played the guitar and keyboards.
Services were held at the Perine Funeral Home, Shinnston, WV, on Wednesday, December 3, at the Pine Bluff United Methodist Church.
