OREVILLE, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a southeast Ohio married couple who died in an apparent murder-suicide last weekend weren't strangers to sheriff's deputies in their rural county.

Records show that deputies had investigated three domestic violence reports since 2005 at the home of 47-year-old Kevin Buckley and his wife, 49-year-old Tammy Buckley. The investigations were closed and no one was prosecuted.

The Hocking County Sheriff's Office said Kevin Buckley killed his wife with a shotgun Saturday night before turning the weapon on himself at their Oreville home, about 70 miles southeast of Columbus.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that sheriff's detective Ed Downs said Kevin Buckley called a friend Saturday night and told her he killed his wife, adding "I couldn't take her mouth anymore."

They'd been married 19 years.
