VAN BUREN - Host Van Buren rallied from a 3-0 deficit after a rain delay to record a 4-3 non-league softball win over Ada Tuesday evening.

The loss dropped the Lady Bulldog record to 12-8 while VB evened its mark at 12-12 with the close victory.

Ada led 3-0 heading to the bottom of the fourth when rain stopped the contest. When play resumed, the Black Knights plated two runs to pull within 3-2.

In the bottom of the sixth, VB scored the winning run on a two-out, 0-2 blooper that landed on the foul line in shallow left field.

Ashley Sumner doubled, singled and drove in a run to pace the Bulldog offense. Quinn High collected a two-run single, and Kaylee Spangler added the other Ada hit.

The Bulldogs played without their seniors, who were on a class trip. The Knights out-hit Ada, 7-4.
