NEW CONCORD--Freshman Keegan Ross became the fourth player in Ohio Northern men's soccer history to score four goals as the No. 7 Ohio Northern men's soccer team topped Muskingum 5-0 Saturday night.

The Polar Bears finish the regular season with a 18-2 mark and a perfect 9-0 in the OAC, while the Muskies fall to 5-11-3, 2-7.

ONU has now won 18 straight OAC matches and is unbeaten in their last 23.

Ross capped off a phenomonial week in which he scored seven goals.

In addition to his four goals, Ross had a hat trick on Wednesday in Northern's 3-1 win over Wilmington.

Ross scored ONU's first four goals, with the first coming 9:31 into the match.

His second goal of the evening came at the 14:10 mark of the first half.

Junior Jeremy Barnes picked up the assist on both goals.

Ross would then score two more times in less than two minutes in the early stages of the second half.

First, he put the ball in the net at the 49:47 mark in the match, with junior Matt Fleming and Barnes picking up the assists.

Ross would then score goal number four of the night when he took a pass from seniors Austin Windosr and Nate Bascom and beat the goalie in the 51st minute.

Ross now has a team leading 18 goals on the season.

His 18 goals are now tied for second most in ONU single season history and tied for the most all-time by a freshman.



In addition, Barnes' three assists tie a single game school record.



Bascom notched his 17th goal of the season just over a minute later to put Northern up 5-0.



Senior goalie Mac Church picked up his second career assist and first of the season.

Bascom now has 55 goals for his career and is just one shy of tying the all-time school record of 56 ,which is held by current ONU head coach Brent Ridenour.

Church (18-2) recorded his school record 45th career shutout by making three saves.

Hunter Huffman made eight saves for Muskingum and falls to 5-11-2.

The Polar Bears outshot the Muskies by a 26-12 margin, including a 14-3 advatage of goal.

Ohio Northern will be in action again on Thursday when they host either Capital or Heidelberg at 2 pm.
