BLUFFTON — Arlington used a second quarter scoring advantage on their way to a 47-35 win over Allen East in the opening game of the McDonald's Bluffton Holiday Tournament Friday night.

The loss puts the Mustangs in Saturday's consolation game at 6 p.m. against Cory-Rawson, while the Red Devils tangle with the host Pirates in the nightcap. The Pirates defeated the Hornets 55-26 in the second game.

After both teams scored 10 points in the opening quarter, Arlington had a 24-18 halftime lead with a 14-8 scoring advantage. The Red Devils outscored Allen East in both the third and fourth quarters for the win.

Jenna Pepple led the Red Devils with 15 points and Maria Crawford added 14 points and four steals. Lindsay Dodds added 10 points and four assists. Hannah Willow pulled down nine rebounds for Arlington.

Tori Newland had a double-double for the Mustangs with 14 points and 17 rebounds and Lauren Criblez had a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
