NEW KNOXVILLE - Host New Knoxville ran out to a commanding 18-3

first-quarter lead and held on for a 62-48 non-league boys hoop win over

visiting Ada Saturday night.

The Rangers improved to 3-2 with the victory, while the Bulldogs dropped

to 2-5 with their second loss in as many nights.

Ada senior guard Austin Cobb scored a career-high 13 points behind three

trifectas to provide a Bulldog bright spot. Junior post Austin Dumbaugh

also tallied 13 points. Senior Mason Acheson added eight points.

Senior Kellen Decker and freshman Brayden Sautter also netted six points

apiece for Ada.

Issac Kuntz scored a game-high 17 points on the strength of five

three-point goals for the Rangers. Andrew Arnett added 14 markers.

The Bulldogs outscored NK 45-44 after the disastrous first period.

Ada returns to action Friday, December 28 at home against perennial power

Kalida, who is also struggling at 3-4 after a 68-47 loss to

Ottawa-Glandorf Saturday.

Ada then hosts Columbus South on the afternoon of Saturday, Dec. 29 at

Ohio Northern University.
