ELIDA - Lincolnview won the first two sets and held on to clinch victory in a close fourth game to upset top-seeded Ada at the Div. IV volleyball sectional finals Saturday night in Elida.

Their fourth straight loss ended the Lady Bulldogs season at 11-12. The Lady Lancers (10-14) advance to face St. Henry (20-3) at the Van Wert district semifinals Tuesday night.

Ada had beaten Lincolnview three times in a row over the past two seasons, including a five-set thriller in last year's sectional final and a three-set sweep in late September.

But this time Lincolnview jumped ahead by winning the initial two sets. The Bulldogs fought back to win the third game, but the Lancers staved off the comeback bid with a 25-23 win in set four to eliminate the top seed.

Versatile senior Taylor Willeke knocked down eight kills, served two aces, made 10 digs and came up with two blocks in her final Ada match. Sophomore Tori Wyss contributed six kills and 13 digs while junior Alexis Rhodes hammered eight kills. Sophomore Lindsay Walden added five kills and a team-high seven blocks. Senior setter Morgan Rouch doled out 33 assists. Hannah Price hustled to 14 digs and freshman Megan Simon amassed 10 digs.
