ADA - Ada junior Alexis Amburgey hurled six innings of three-hit shutout softball to pace the Lady Bulldogs to a 6-0 non-league win over visiting county foe Ridgemont Wednesday night.
Their fifth win in six games improved the Ada record to 9-3, while the Golden Gophers fell to 5-9 with the defeat.
Amburgey gave up just three hits in six innings while striking out five and walking none to run her record to 5-3 this spring.
Ashley Sumner struck out two in one inning as she pitched the seventh inning. Sumner also hit a double and a single.
Amburgey collected two singles and drove in a run to aid her own cause.
Mackenzie Wills and Alexis Gonzaga each contributed an RBI single. Quinn High and Kaylee Spangler each added a single. Ada out-hit Ridgemont, 8-3.
The Bulldogs plated two runs in the bottom of the third inning to break up a scoreless game. Ada added four more runs in the fifth to put the game away. The Bulldogs played error-less defense.
