DOLA - Reports coming out of Hardin Northern High School are indicating the school will suspend its varsity football program for the upcoming season.

Reports indicate the move was made due to a lack of overall numbers (players), size of the players and overall experience as just two seniors had any interest in going out for the team this fall. The school has indicated they will try to play a junior varsity in 2013 with the hopes of fielding a varsity team again in 2014.

The Polar Bears finished the 2012 season with a 1-9 record, which came via a forfeit against Vanlue.

The Polar Bears decision to vacate football leaves voids in the 2013 football schedules for Ada as the two teams square off against each other in the season opener.
