DOLA — Spencerville doubled up Hardin Northern in the opening half Friday evening on their way to a 36-16 season opening win over the Polar Bears.

The Bearcats had a 36-16 halftime lead as they led 18-7 after one quarter before adding an 18-9 scoring advantage in the second quarter. Spencerville finished off the game with a 30-20 scoring margin in the second half.

Jenna Henline led the Bearcats (1-0) with 13 points and Nelaya Burden added 12 points. Kaiden Grigsby added 10 points to the Spencerville win.

Ashton Dye led the Polar Bears (0-1) with a game high 24 points and she grabbed eight rebounds. Haylei Pees had six points and three rebounds.

Spencerville won the junior varsity game 30-4.
