CONVOY - The Crestview Knights concluded their season and said goodbye to their seniors against the Ada Bulldogs Friday night at Ray Etzler Gymnasium. The Knights got up big early and never looked back on their way to a 70-33 victory.

The Knights started off the game on a 10-2 run. Junior Damian Helm started the scoring with an easy two. Junior Tyson Bolenbaugh then hit back-to-back baskets to expand the lead to 6-0, then Helm added another two on the following possession to push the run to 8-0.

After a basket by senior guard Mason Acheson, Crestview's senior guard Alex Brown scored his first points of the night to conclude the 10-2 run.

The Knights maintained their lead for the rest of the quarter to take a 16-9 lead after the first quarter.

Crestview then went on a 14-2 run in the second quarter to help put the game away early. Helm led the run with five points while Cam Etzler added four, sophomore Preston Zaleski added three, and senior Alec Heffer added two.

The second half was all Crestview as they outscored Ada 38-14 in the second half, on their way to a lopsided 70-33 victory.

Austin Dumbaugh and Spencer Archer led the way for the Bulldogs with 10 points each, while Gabe Sutton added eight.

The loss drops Ada to 6-14 on the season and 1-8 in the Northwest Conference.

"We played hard. We went through a lull around game 14 or 15, but since then we have been playing hard all season," said Ada coach Chris Sautter. "The scoreboard doesn't always show it but we are getting better. Our problem is we have been playing some really tough teams all here at the end of the season. All we can do is keep trying to work and get better and hopefully come tournament time we can maybe get one."

With the win, the Knights move to 19-3 on the season and 7-2 in the NWC.

Helm led all scorers in the game with 23 points on 11 of 13 shooting from the field. Bolenbaugh added eight, while freshman Connor Lautzenheiser and Zaleski each chipped in with eight.

"I thought it was a good way to end our home stand and our regular season," said Crestview coach Jeremy Best. "I thought the game didn't flow very well at times, but our guys were playing hard. We had a lot of different combinations in at times but you never know when you're going to need to turn to your bench and we have had a good bench all year."

Friday night marked the end of the home playing career for Crestview seniors, Brown, Heffner, and Josh Ream. The seniors ended their home season by going undefeated at the Ray.

"They went 10-0 here at home and that is something you always want to do is protect your home court. Those three guys have been loyal to our program. Josh has been hurt and it was great to get him in the game. Those guys have been great, they are good leaders, and they are good friends with their teammates. Anytime you can go out with a win, undefeated on your home floor, and get to 19 wins, I think you can be happy with that, but we are looking forward to season number two."

The Knights next game will be sectional tournament action next Friday night at 6:15 p.m. at Van Wert High School. Crestview will play the winner of the Ottoville Lima Perry game, which will take place on Tuesday night.
