BLUFFTON - Pirate hurler Zak Kuhlman tossed a two-hit shutout to lead

Bluffton to a 3-0 win over the visiting Ada baseball team Thursday evening

in a Northwest Conference matchup.

Ada dropped to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in NWC play with the loss, while

Bluffton improved to 6-3 and 2-0 in league action with the victory.

Bulldog Lane Nitchie did all he could to give the Ada offense a boost by

hitting a double in the fifth inning and adding a single in the seventh,

but no one else managed a hit.

Kuhlman struck out seven and walked none.

Bluffton plated two runs in the bottom of the third inning on a

run-scoring double by Trent Phillips and an RBI single by Austin Bricker.

It would be all Kuhlman needed, but the Pirates added a single run in the

fourth to finish the scoring.
