DELPHOS - Ada junior hitters Tori Wyss and Lindsay Walden were both named to the All-Northwest Conference volleyball second team in voting recently conducted by the league coaches at Delphos Jefferson.

The feisty and versatile 5-8 Wyss is a powerful hitter, tough competitor and hustling defender while the 5-11 Walden patrolled the middle well for Ada as an imposing hitter and blocker.

Promising 5-10 Lady Bulldog sophomore hitter Carlee Marshall earned honorable mention notice.

Columbus Grove senior Julia Wynn was voted the 2013 NWC Player of the Year after finishing second in last year's balloting.

Susan Jones of league champion Grove was also voted NWC Coach of the Year by her peers.

Ada finished 5-3 in the NWC, good for fourth place in the nine-team standings. They lost to the three teams that finished above them; Grove was 8-0, followed by Bluffton (7-1) and Crestview (6-2). Allen East came in fifth at 4-4.

Mustang junior Kaycee Rowe was also voted first team all-league.
