DELPHOS - Ada junior catcher Ashley Windle was named second team All-Northwest Conference in softball voting conducted by the league coaches at Delphos Jefferson Monday night.



Windle was one of the team's top hitters and a solid, energetic backstop who lent much leadership to the young Lady Bulldog squad.

Bulldog senior first baseman Sam Wildman and senior third baseman Kendra Paul were each named honorable mention all-league. Sophomore pitcher Alexis Amburgey also earned honorable mention All-NWC status.

Wildman started for four years and was a solid hitter. Paul was also a starter her first three seasons before missing much of her senior campaign due to injury. Her late-season return solidifed the Ada lineup and helped the team reach the sectional finals as they won two of their last three contests.

Amburgey won all five games for the Bulldogs and was a workhorse all season in the circle as well as obne of the team's top hitters.

Lima Central Catholic pitcher/third baseman Meredith Shepherd was named NWC Player of the Year. The Lady Thunderbirds finished in a three-way tie for first in the NWC with Crestview and Lincolnview as each team ended up 7-2.

Kevin Wilkerson of LCC was named NWC Coach of the Year.

Allen East senior second baseman/third baseman Madison Schantz was voted first team all-league. Lady Mustang catcher Erin Conkle made second team all-conference.

Ada ended up 5-14 and 2-7 in league play, including a win over LCC, to finish ninth in the 10-team conference. AE was 15-9 overall and 4-5 in the NWC and tied with Spencerville for sixth.
