ARLINGTON - Host Arlington outscored Ada 25-9 in the third period and went on to post a 66-55 non-league boys basketball win in the Bulldog season opener Saturday night.

The Red Devils improved to 2-0 with their ninth straight home win, while

Ada fell to 0-1.

The Bulldogs led by one at halftime, but Arlington turned the tables after intermission to outscore Ada 44-32.

Devil Michael Blunk scored a game-high 25 points and also snared 13 rebounds to lead all players. Andrew Hunter added 16 points and eight assists.

Senior guard Micah Roberson scored 14 points to lead Ada, and classmate Mason Acheson contributed 13 as he canned two treys. Senior Eli Roberson drained three trifectas for 10 points.

Junior Austin Dumbaugh knocked down a pair of triples for six points, and senior Gabe Sutton also added six markers.

The Bulldogs cannned eight of 19 from behind the three-point line (42 percent) and sank 10 of 23 inside the arc (43 percent) for a total of 18 of 42 (43 percent).

Ada made 11 of 18 foul shots (61 percent) while Arlington converted 14 of 22 at the charity stripe (64 percent). The Devils hit on 25 of 54 field attempts (46 percent).

Arlington dominated the boards, 34-17. Eli Roberson and Dumbaugh each pulled down four boards to pace the Bulldogs. Ada made 14 turnovers while the Devils committed 13 miscues.
