Ada's Windle in seventh-place match

COLUMBUS - Ada junior Austin Windle won a match and lost one in the 160 lb. weight class during the state wrestling meet's second day of Div. III competition at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus Friday.
In the consolation bracket second round, Windle nipped Jacob Croswell of Columbus Bishop Hartley by a 2-1 decision, which assured him of no worse than an eighth-place finish.
Windle then faced Ray Day of Reading in the consolation bracket quarterfinals, where he lost a 5-2 decision.
The defeat eliminated him from any chance of finishing as high as third, or fifth.
Windle's final match of the season will be against Drew Basiel of Akron Manchester, who is 40-13, in a bout for seventh place.
Consolation matches begin at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Windle now has a season record of 41-8.
