LIMA - Ada junior Matthew Wilcox was named Lima area boys co-swimmer of the year in voting recently conducted by the regions 20 coaches.

Wilcox shared the honor with Matthew Stover of Versailles.

Ada third-year head coach Ryan Siefring was also voted Lima area boys Coach of the Year by his peers. He led the Bulldog boys to a 10th-place finish at the Div. II state meet, the best showing in program history.

A total of 21 swimmers were each voted to the all-area first team. Joining Matt Wilcox on the first team were his sophomore brother Mitchell Wilcox and senior Jon Robey.

All three went to the state meet where Matt won a bronze medal.

Bulldog senior Karl Karcher was voted honorable mention All-Lima Area. He and the other three made it to state in a pair of relays and also medaled.

Ada freshman girl swimmer Kyley Stuart was named honorable mention

all-area after making it to districts.

In all, 42 male and female swimmers were named to the first team all-area squad. Thirteen more made special mention, while 72 girls and 48 boys

earned honorable mention notice.
