LIMA - Following their seventh-place finish at the 10-team Northwest

Conference boys golf tournament Thursday, veteran Ada golf coach Mike

Badertscher was voted NWC Coach of the Year by his peers.

Badertscher, in his 17th season as Ada golf mentor, led the rebuilding

Bulldogs to a respectable 7-11 NWC record (sixth place) and a 9-17 overall


Evan Crites of Spencerville, runner-up at the league tiitle event in

Hawthorne Hills, earned NWC Player of the Year honors by virtue of points

earned during each regular season match.

Crites scored 215.5 out of a maximum 216 points. Crites was joined on the

NWC first team by Rich Streicher (191) of Bluffton, Nick Gallmeier (185.5)

of Delphos Jefferson, Tanner Richardson (169.5) of Allen East, junior

Slade Downing (166.5) of Ada, and Kayne Richardson (160) of Allen East.

Senior Clay Plaugher of Allen East (156.5) and Mustang junior Lucas

Herrmann (154.5) earned second team all-league notice.

Ada junior Austin Dysert earned honorable mention status with 124 points.
