LIMA - The red-hot Ada tennis team won at Lima Bath 3-2 Tuesday evening to improve its record to a perfect 7-0 this season.
"I think having our team returning from last year has helped us, especially in winning a few 3-2 matches," said second-year Ada head coach Scott Wills when asked about what he attributes the fast start to. "We were a little fortunate to win vs. Bath.
"But it's a good start for our team, and it is good for the kids," he added.
Junior ace Mackenzie Wills improved to 7-0 this season with a straight-set victory at first singles.
Meredith Marshall also kept her record unblemished at 7-0 with a double bagel victory at third singles.
Tessa Coulson and Olivia Gonder grabbed the other win at second doubles in straight sets to improve to 5-0.
"Coulson and Gonder are playing well," said Wills. "Gonder is playing well from the baseline and Coulson has stepped up her aggressiveness."
