SPENCERVILLE - The Columbus Grove boys and girls track teams each grabbed the lead after the first day of the Northwest Conference track and field championships Thursday at Spencerville.



The Ada girls stand fourth with 12.5 points while the Bulldog boys are tied for sixth with Crestview (11 points each) in the nine-team meet.

Grove sports a 36-32 lead over Spencerville after four events in the boys meet, and CG holds a similar 32-27 edge over Bluffton in the girls standings.

The NWC track and field meet will resume Saturday morning at Spencerville and conclude later in the day.
