FOSTORIA - The Ada baseball team dropped a close non-league doubleheader at Fostoria St. Wendelin Saturday, 8-5 and 11-8.
The defeats dropped the Bulldog boys record to 1-4 overall, while FSW improved to 2-5 with the sweep.
Sophomore Brayden Sautter hit a triple and two singles while scoring twice and knocking in two more runs.
Ada freshman Seth Evans singled twice, scored two runs and stole three bases to help pace the offense. The Bulldogs out-hit FSW 8-6, but committed five errors. 
The Bulldogs led 5-2 heading to the bottom of the fourth, but then the hosts plated four runs to take a 6-5 lead. They added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.

In the nightcap, the Bulldogs scored four runs in the top of the first inning, but FSW came back with three runs in the bottom of the frame.
Fostoria took a 7-5 lead with two runs in each of the second and third innings. Ada tied it 8-8 with two runs in the top of the sixth, yet FSW tallied three runs in the bottom of the sixth to provide the final margin of victory.
Bulldog first baseman Connor English singled twice, scored two runs, walked twice and stole a pair of bases.
Ada senior Cory Kellum drove in two runs with a double and a single, scored twice and swiped three bases.
