LIMA - Versailles won the girls team title over Lima Shawnee yet Shawnee returned the favor to grab the boys crown at the 17-team Holiday Invitational swim meet in the Lima YMCA this past Saturday.

The Ada boys came in a solid fifth with 179 points, while Shawnee won with 379 points. Versailles (303), Bath (217) and Celina (185) also finished ahead of the Bulldog boys, who boasted the best small-school finish.

The Lady Bulldogs ended up 10th with 44 points, while victorious Versailles tallied 439 to defeat Shawnee (377).

Ada senior Jon Robey won the 100 freestyle in 49.89. Robey also took second in the 100 butterfly (55.19).

Ada junior Matt Wilcox took second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.09, and was also second in the 100 breaststroke (63.93).

His brother, sophomore Mitchell Wilcox, came in second in both the 100 backstroke (61.2) and in the 200 individual medley (2:12.22).

The Bulldog A relay quartet of Wilcox, Wilcox, Michael Savino and Robey came in second in the 200 free relay (1:33.78).

The same Ada foursome also took third in the 200 medley relay (1:47.61).

Freshman Katie Stuart posted the top Ada girls finish. She came in ninth in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:19.43.

Her twin sister Kylie Stuart finished 10th in the 100 backstroke (1:14.92).

Ada returns to the pool Saturday, January 12 at 1 p.m in the Wapkoneta/Celina Invitational at the Wapak YMCA.
