  • MIDDLE POINT — Ada senior Chase Sumner was named tournament MVP after leading the Bulldog wrestling team to a strong second- place finish at the 12-team Lincolnview Invitational Saturday.
  • OTTOVILLE — Unbeaten host Ottoville pulled away from a close game near halftime to post an 83-51 non-league win over the Ada boys basketball team Saturday night.
  • ALLIANCE — The No. 15-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team used a balanced offensive scoring attack to claim its seventh straight victory as they defeated Mount Union 63-52 at the MAAC on Saturday afternoon.
  • ADA — Junior Ryan Bruns (Chickasaw/Marion Local) used a 30-point effort, while senior Nate Burger (Dayton/Alter) flirted with a triple-double to lead the Ohio Northern men's basketball team to an 86-82 victory over visiting Mount Union on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
  • KALIDA — Host Kalida smothered the Ada boys basketball team 64-18 Friday night in a non-league contest. 
  • ADA — Visiting Bluffton authored two big first half runs to build a comfortable lead and never looked back in posting a 61-26 win over Ada in the Northwest Conference girls basketball opener Thursday evening.
  • WILMINGTON — Junior Tori Wyss (Ada) and senior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) led the No. 15-ranked women's basketball team to a 65-44 victory at Wilmington on Wednesday night at Raizk Arena.
  • ADA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team stayed on top of the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 92-83 victory over Wilmington on Wednesday evening at the ONU Sports Center.
  • ADA — Former Ohio Northern All-Americans Wes Hostetler and Jason Trusnik were named to the 20-Year All-Tazon Team for their efforts representing the United States of America and Ohio Northern in bowl games against Mexican all-stars from 1997-2016.
  • ADA — Senior Emily Richards has been named the Div. III United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Women's National Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 5.
