ADA - Selma R. Long, 88, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 12:46 a.m., at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born Nov. 26, 1924, in Beaverdam, to the late Albert and Rena (Moore) Amstutz. On Oct. 24, 1946, she married Harold L. Long and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1995.
Selma was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ and a 1943 graduate of LaFayette-Jackson High School.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Frank) Badertscher and Pamela (Gary) Jackson, both of Ada; six grandchildren, Beth (Don) Lawrence, of Ada, Brian Badertscher of Davis, Calif., Brett (Crystal) Badertscher, of Ada, Matthew Badertscher, of Findlay, Brad Jackson, of Findlay, and Ryan Jackson, of Bloomington, Ind.; four great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Ella Badertscher and Ethan & Grace Lawrence; a brother, Richard (Emily) Amstutz of Pontiac, Ill.; and two sisters, Marjorie Miller, of Van Wert, and Alberta Welch, of Grover Hill.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Long; two brothers, Dale Amstutz and an infant brother Robert; and two sisters, Dorothy Amstutz and Linda Beach.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Rev. Harrison Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, April 9, at Hanson-Neely Funerald Home, Ada, and until the time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
