FINDLAY - Ruth Ann Schneider, age 72, formerly of Ada, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at 6:37 p.m., at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. She was born on Sept. 12, 1940, in Bluffton, to Homer Samuel and Mabel Ruth (Nowlan) Eckenrode, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 19, 1977, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Marion, she married David D. Schneider and he survives in Findlay.
Ruth taught at LaFayette Schools for 5 years, and then taught at Ada Exempted Village School, teaching 3rd grade and remedial reading for 25 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the St. Andrew's United Methodist Church of Findlay. She was a member of the Order of Priscilla Ministry Group. Ruth graduated in 1958 from Ada High School and then graduated from Ohio Northern University with a BA in Education. She was a member of the former Quatre Club of Ada.
Also surviving are a brother, Gary (Sharon Sue) Eckenrode, of Findlay; sister-in-law, Marquita (Hugh) Foster, of Peachtree City, Ga; two nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Larry Kreps officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ada.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
