KENTON - Robert L. "Bob" Dick, 73, died at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, March, 15, 2013, at The Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus. He was born Oct. 7, 1939, in Kenton, to the late Francis and Mary Louise (Snyder) Dick. On May 11, 1996, he married Mary Boes-Howe who survives.
Robert was a 1957 graduate of Kenton High School and retired from working in the maintenance department at ONU. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Rochester. He was a meat cutter at Gus Dicks, and also worked at the Kenton Times and the Review Times of Fostoria.
Survivors include one step-son, Steve Howe, of Apple Valley; four grandchildren, Brittany, Sullivan, Spencer and Elena Howe; two brothers, Jerry (Sandy) Dick, and Edward (Deborah) Dick, both of Kenton; and four sisters, Monica Edmand, of Palm Bay, Fla.; Sally Candler, of Kissimmee, Fla.; Rosalyn (Jim) Brenner and Martha (Dennis) Hottman, both of Kenton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister, Suzanne Cavin.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Transfiguration of the Lord, 225 N. 8th St., Upper Sandusky, with Father Stash Dailey and Father Dean Matterson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Kenton, with Graveside Military Services conducted by AMVETS Post 1994.
Visiting hours will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, with Prayer Service/Rosary recited at 7 p.m.
