ADA - Michael W. Stavenger, 67, passed away on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Lost Creek Care Center, Lima. He was born on April 29, 1946, in Ravenna, Ohio, to the late Earl G. and Viola B. (Chambers) Stavenger. On June 25, 1967, he married Jean A. Rayl and she survives in Ada.
Mike retired as a grocery and food broker. He was a member of the Ada Lions Club; former member of the school board for Ada Schools; and a former Cub Scout master for Troop #124.
Also surviving are a son, Jason (Stephanie) Stavenger, of Columbus; a daughter, Julie Stavenger, of Ada; a grandson, Hunter Stavenger; and mother-in-law, Eunice Rayl, of Bluffton.
He was preceded in death by a infant son, Joseph Stavenger; a brother, Glenn Stavenger; and father-in-law, Dick Rayl.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Tom Dearth officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
