PHOENIX, ARIZ. - Martha Alice (Newell) Hilderbrand, 86, of Phoneix, Ariz., passed away and made her transition on Oct. 17, 2012. Born in Mifflin Township, Ohio, Martha lived her entire life in the Wyandot County/Upper Sandusky vicinity until 2002, when she and her husband, Paul, relocated to the Valley of the Sun.

Until that time she worked in the family business, Paul's Shoe Store. Previous places of employment included the Evergreens Restaurant, and Carlton Plastics. Her life was devoted to raising and caring for her family. Favorite pastimes included bowling, playing bingo, and going to estate/garage sales. Martha was a proud member of the DAR.

Martha is pre-deceased by her husband, Paul; mother and father, Nellie (Hemmerly) and Zibba Dwight Newell; and nine siblings, Anna Wilcox, Grace Gottfried, Florence Smalley, Mary Gould, Helen Chadwick, Charles, Byron, Russell and Raymond Newell.

She is survived by three sons, Thomas (Alice Kay), Stephen (Gary), Joseph (Michael); nieces; nephews; and two cats, Walter and Whiskers.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, at Central United Methodist Church, 1875 N. Central Avenue, in Phoenix, Ariz., 85004.
