ADA - Loyd W. Agin, 83, died on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at 6:40 p.m., at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. He was born on Aug. 11, 1930, in Ada, to the late Elmer Loyd and Mary Susan (Richards) Agin. On Aug. 4, 1961, he married Mary Beatrice "Bea" Griffith and she survives in Ada.
Loyd previously worked for Buckeye Pipeline. He worked at McCurdy Steel Products where he designed and built grain elevators. He retired from Ford Motor Company Lima Engine Plant where he worked as a welder in skilled trades. He was a member of the UAW Local #1219. Ada First Presbyterian Church was his church home.
He enjoyed small game hunting in his younger years and was an excellent shot. Loyd's father-in-law Robert Griffith introduced him to the game of golf. They played together for many years and happily won several tournaments together. He enjoyed hand-crafting items for his family. His kindheartedness and smile will be remembered and cherished by his family and friends. He loved and enjoyed his family and looked forward to the arrival of each new great-grandbaby.
Also surviving are six children, Dee (Tim) Davis of Sterling, Colo., Tim (Rachel) Agin, of Flagler Beach, Fla., David Agin of Lilburn, Ga., Barb (Jim) Ulrey, of Ada, Mike (Deb) Agin of Johns Island, S.C., and Rob (Sherry) Agin, of Ada; fourteen grandchildren, Sarah (Fiancé B.J. Eaton) Davis, Jason (Erika) Agin, Morgan (Brandon) Travis, Katie Agin, Ashley Agin, Nathan (Emily) Ulrey, Ryan (Katie) Ulrey, Neisha Ulrey, Michael (Caithlyn) Agin, Rosanne (Pete) Hughes, A.J. (Sarah) Agin, Jasmine Agin, Nickolas Agin and Jacob Agin; twelve great-grandchildren, Abigail Agin, Brent Hughes, Alec Hughes, Blakely Hughes, Claire Agin, Hudson Travis, Avery Ulrey, Ainsley Ulrey, Arden Ulrey, Laenen Ulrey, Rhett Ulrey and Maeve Ulrey; two sisters, Helen May Winkler, of Bluffton, and Barbara Jean (Jerry) Schneider, of Richmond; a cousin, Carolyn Agin, of Ada; brother-in-law, Jim Griffith, of Lakeview; and sister-in-law, Bobbie (Lee) Hansel of Smyrna, Ga.
He was preceded in death by an infant son and a sister Mary Lou Ward.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor David Thompson officiating. Burial was in Hasson Cemetery, Jenera.
