CIRCLEVILLE - Hilda K. Vayhinger, 92, formerly of Ada, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Berger Hospital, in Circleville. She was born Oct. 30, 1920, in Cincinnati, the daughter of Joseph Bernard and Irma Matilda (Krausse) Scheve. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold P. Vayhinger; her daughter, Barbara Ann Tuttle; and her sister, Barbara Claire Yerkes.

Hilda graduated from Wyoming High School, in Cincinnati, attended Columbia University and received her Masters Degree in early childhood education from the University of Cincinnati. After college she taught kindergarten then stayed home to raise her family and later worked as an office manager at John Knox Village.

Hilda was a member of Deltona Church of Christ, the AAUW and PEO and enjoyed ballroom and tap dancing and entertaining for folks at the retirement village in Florida where she resided until returning to Ohio to be with family. Hilda was very musical and played violin and guitar.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter Mary Anne Edsall and her son-in-law, Ken, with whom she made her home in Circleville; grandchildren, Becky Hefner, Kim Franklin, Allison (Jason) Alexander, Melanie (Jesse) Harrison and Aaron (Inna) Edsall; great-grandchildren, Eli Franklin, Annaliese Alexander, Maxim and Kostya Edsall; sister, Irma Fix; and nephew, Chuck Fix.

There will be no visitation or service. Burial of Hilda's urn will take place at a later date, in Ada, next to her husband, Harold, who had been chairman of the education department at Ohio Northern University in the 1970's.
