ADA - Doris I. Weihrauch, 89, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton. She was born Oct. 5, 1922, in McGuffey, to Everett and Louella (Symonds) Shadley, who preceded her in death. She married Clarence E. Weihrauch on Oct. 31, 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1978.
Doris worked in the cafeteria at Ada High School for twenty years. She was a member of Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Ada, and the United Methodist Women. Doris was a member of the Hardin County Homemakers, Pomona Grange, Ada VFW Post #9381, Ladies Auxiliary, Ada Senior Citizens, and a fifty year member of Liberty Grange. She also volunteered at Lima Memorial Health System for twenty years.
Survivors include two sons, Byron (Annette) Weihrauch, of Tombstone, Ariz., and Ronald L. (Martha) Weihrauch, Sr., of Ada; three daughters, Donna (Virgil) Campbell, of Ada, Anita (Steve) Walkters, of Arlington, and Debra (Jeff) Young, of Ada; a sister, Barbara Weihrauch, of Dunkirk; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Virgil E. Campbell; one brother, Everett Shadley, Jr.; and one sister, Carole Sutz.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m., at the Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Ron Weihrauch and Pastor Tim Garmon officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 2, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association and/or the Lima Memorial Volunteer Auxiliary.
