ADA - Dale L. Copus, 79, passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at 2:50 p.m., at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born on Nov. 23, 1933, in Auglaize County, to the late Glen H. and Reo (Klingler) Copus. He married Arlene N. Beidelschies on Dec. 29, 1957, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 2011.
Dale retired in 1995 from Ford Motor Company, Lima. He was a graduate of Shawnee High School and a US Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a member and trustee of the First Missionary Church, Lima.
Dale was an avid fisherman and Buckeye fan.
Surviving are a son, Douglas (Vicki) Copus, of Rockford, Ill.; two daughters, Cynthia (Kevin) Lachey, of Vaughnsville; and Suzanne (William) Hageman, of Dublin; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard (Roberta) Copus, of Tennessee; a sister, Lydia McElroy, of Lima and a foster sister, Carol Lewis, of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Copus; two infant children; and a grandson, Joshua Copus.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Rev. Dr. Timothy White officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Westminster. Graveside military service will be conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 8, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and until time of service on Friday.
