ADA - Annabelle M. Reese, 90, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at 3:50 a.m., at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born on Mar. 2, 1922, in Hardin County, to Leslie and Hazel (Weber) Smith and they preceded her in death. On Oct. 20, 1940, she married Otas W. Reese and he preceded her in death on Mar. 2, 2006.

Annabelle was a homemaker and she previously worked as a waitress for 25 years at Marriott Foods at Ohio Northern University. She was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church of Ada and a member of the United Methodist Women of the Church. She was a graduate of McGuffey High School in 1940. She was a 55 year member of the Liberty Grange of Ada #2526, a 7th Degree member of the Grange and a member of the Pomona Grange of Hardin County. She was a member of the American Legion Post #185 Ladies Auxiliary of Ada and a member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are two sons: Dan (Cheryl) Reese and Dennis "Pete" (Sue) Reese, both of Ada; daughter, Linda (Tom) Vermillion,, of Ada; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and two sisters, Alice Decker, of Lima, and Clarabelle Krofft, of Ada.

She was preceded in death by a son, David F. Reese; granddaughter, Kendra Kay Vermillion; seven brothers: Charlie, Clarence, Norman, Ralph, Russell, Cloyce and John Smith; and two sisters: Dorothy Fleming and Marie Bowman.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Chaplain Bill Herr and Rev. Jonathan Hanover officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 29, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and until time of service on Friday at the funeral home. A Grange Service will begin at 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 29, and will be conducted by the Liberty Grange of Ada #2526.
