MCGUFFEY - A public meeting was held Thursday evening at Upper Scioto Valley Schools to discuss the need for a 3.1 mil renewal levy for the district. Superintendent Denny Recker led the discussion and provided a slideshow of examples of the repairs required in the 11 year old building.

The 3.1 mil levy would generate $241,000 per year for the district and takes the place of a 4.8 mil levy that just ended. According to Recker the board is striving to remain open and honest with residents about the need for the levy.

The next meeting regarding the levy will be held Thursday, April 11, at 6 p.m. in the Home Economics Room at the school.
