The Ada Herald Christmas Cookie Bake-off!
Thursday, November 29, 2012 6:19 AM
ADA - There is nothing quite like the smell of homemade cookies baking in the oven, especially during the holiday season! Many Christmas recipes are passed down through families like jewelry or antiques and are just as precious an heirloom as grandmother's pearls, kept in seemingly ancient boxes and rendered only barely legible by the passing of time. The holidays are the best time to share those treats with family, friends and neighbors!
So if you have a treasured group of recipes you only bring out for Christmas, select one of your favorites and share it with us! Three recipes will be selected, baked, and put before a panel of hungry cookie-loving judges (i.e. local newspaper employees) for tasting. The winner will receive a gift certificate from the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce! All recipes, along with a few of our family favorites, will be printed in the Ada Herald as part of Holiday Greetings 2012.
Please email recipes to firstname.lastname@example.org or drop them off to the Ada Herald office at 229 N. Main Street, Ada, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. Deadline for submission is Tuesday, Dec. 13. We look forward to trying your favorite holiday treats!
