ADA - The ONU Astronomy Club will be hosting a free public event at the ONU Observatory on Friday, Feb. 1, between 8 p.m. and 10 pm. The theme is "Star Formation in Orion", referring to the Great Orion Nebula where stars are currently emerging from their "cocoons".They will target this and other nebulosities in the telescopes. There will be a short Power Point presentation on star formation beginning around 9 p.m. They will also be viewing Jupiter which will be well-placed in the sky, about 30 degrees from Orion. New to this event is an opportunity to use a device which allows photography with your smart phone through the eyepiece!
