ADA - The Ada High School football team will have a new leader on the field this fall. Bob Olwin Olwin comes to Ada with over 30 years of coaching experience, most recently as the head coach of the Lake High School Flyers in Millbury.
Olwin was officially hired during a special Board of Education meeting held Wednesday evening. In addition to his duties on the field, Olwin will teach high school health and physical education classes, a position that was also left open by the resignation of Mike Fell.
Also hired during the meeting was Joanna Snyder for a position in the high school math department. Snyder will graduate from Ohio Northern University this spring and is currently wrapping up her student teaching experience at Allen East High School. She was also a member of the women's basketball team at ONU and is very excited to stay and work in the Ada community.
Other items approved during the Wednesday meeting:
- The resignation of Della Newland after 21 years of service in the Ada cafeteria.
- A county service agreement with the Hardin County Educational Service Center for the 2013-2014 school year.
The next meeting of the Ada Board of Education is scheduled for Monday, April 29, at 7 p.m., in the Board of Education Office.
